The ZOELLER 188-0004 is a 1.5 HP nonautomatic effluent pump built for septic system and groundwater removal applications. Running on 230 volts single phase at 14 amps, it delivers up to 116 GPM at a 30-foot total dynamic head. Because the 188-0004 is nonautomatic, it requires a piggyback float switch or a control panel to set on and off points in the field. The vortex impeller design allows the pump to pass spherical solids up to 0.75 inches, reducing clog risk and minimizing downtime. The motor housing, pump housing, and base are cast iron. The identification tag, handle, and hardware are stainless steel. Every unit is submerged and tested to its published performance curve before leaving the factory.
This pump is suited for residential and light commercial septic effluent and groundwater removal in deep sump pits or pump tanks where field-adjustable on and off points are required. The nonautomatic configuration makes it a practical choice when a control panel is already part of the system design, or when a piggyback float switch is preferred for simple level control. Licensed plumbers and septic contractors handle installation in accordance with local codes and applicable health department regulations governing effluent and septic system work.
