The Z-FLEX 2SVEPWC0501 is a single-wall, rigid vent pipe designed for horizontal exhaust applications on Category III gas-burning appliances. Constructed from AL 29-4C stainless steel and rated to UL 1738, this pipe measures 5 inches in diameter and has an actual pipe length of 9.75 inches. The completed installed length is 11.75 inches, accounting for the 2-inch insertion into the female self-sealing gasket end of the adjoining pipe. It is engineered for use with natural gas and liquid propane appliances where maximum vent gas temperatures at the appliance outlet do not exceed 550 degrees F.
This vent pipe is suited for residential and commercial horizontal venting installations on Category II, III, and IV gas-burning appliances, including unit heaters, high-efficiency furnaces, and high-efficiency water heaters. The gasketed, fusion-welded design eliminates the need for sealant, reducing installation time and eliminating cure-time callbacks. Appliances requiring Category III stainless steel single-wall venting are the primary application. This pipe supports field-cutting with a hacksaw and carbon steel blade, though adjustable pipe sections are recommended to avoid the need for cutting. If cutting is required, a minimum of 2 inches must remain for proper connection, and cut edges must be filed smooth for an appropriate seal.
Designed for use with Category II, III, and IV gas-burning appliances requiring single-wall stainless steel venting, including unit heaters, high-efficiency gas furnaces, and high-efficiency gas water heaters. Compatible with natural gas and liquid propane fuel sources. Additional Z-FLEX single-wall pipe sections can be connected to extend total vent run length.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or plumber familiar with local mechanical codes and the appliance manufacturer's venting requirements. Always shut down and allow the appliance to cool before servicing or extending a vent run. Maintain a minimum 3-inch clearance to combustibles throughout the vent run. If field-cutting is necessary, use a hacksaw with a carbon steel blade, retain at least 2 inches for insertion, and file all cut edges smooth before connecting to prevent gasket damage. Verify compliance with local codes before installation.
