The YORK S1-TSHC510 is a communicating Smart Home Control thermostat designed for use with YORK Affinity series heat pump and air handler systems. It provides precise comfort control by communicating directly with compatible inverter-driven equipment, coordinating variable-speed compressor operation without the signal loss common to non-communicating controls. The S1-TSHC510 is intended for residential HVAC applications and is installed by licensed HVAC technicians as part of a complete Affinity system commissioning. Key electrical and system parameters are managed through the communicating protocol rather than conventional wired inputs.
The S1-TSHC510 is paired with YORK Affinity YH9 series heat pump units, which are inverter-driven with fully variable compressor operation and are available in 3-ton and 5-ton configurations, including dual-capacity 2/3-ton and 4/5-ton options. The thermostat also integrates with JHC Constant CFM Air Handler Units and Y92V and Y82V furnace platforms within the Affinity communicating system. This makes it a purpose-built control component rather than a universal replacement thermostat.
Designed for use with YORK Affinity YH9 heat pump models, JHC Constant CFM Air Handler Units, and Y92V and Y82V furnaces as part of the Affinity communicating system. Compatible units are available in 3-ton and 5-ton sizes with dual-capacity options.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with low-voltage communicating control wiring. Power down the entire HVAC system at the disconnect and breaker before removing any existing thermostat or control wiring. Follow the equipment manufacturer wiring diagrams for the communicating bus connections, as this thermostat operates on a proprietary communication protocol rather than standard R, G, Y, W terminal assignments. Verify all system components are compatible before commissioning.
