The YG-1 28598 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers the edge retention and rigidity required for consistent performance in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, making it well-suited for moderate-to-high feed rate applications. With a 3/4 inch mill diameter, a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length, this is a standard-reach single-end tool in a bright, uncoated finish. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators on milling machines and machining centers.
This end mill is intended for use in milling operations on non-ferrous workpiece materials, including aluminum alloys, copper, brass, and plastics. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute spiral geometry suits conventional and climb milling strategies on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER and side-lock tool holders with a 3/4 inch bore. This is a single-end, non-center-cutting tool, so it is not designed for plunge entry without a pre-drilled pocket or ramping entry path.
Designed for use in milling machines and CNC machining centers with a 3/4 inch straight-bore tool holder. Suited for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials per primary workpiece material designation code N.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the tool holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Because this is a non-center-cutting end mill, do not program a direct plunge move - use a ramp or helical entry strategy to begin a pocket.
