The YELLOW JACKET 93740 is a 4 CFM vacuum pump built around a brushless DC (BLDC) motor, designed for HVAC evacuation work on residential and light commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The BLDC motor delivers high torque and high efficiency compared to traditional AC motor-driven pumps, and the unit is field rated to 15 microns. The pump is engineered to handle supply voltage variations, including extreme low-voltage conditions, and it starts reliably in low ambient temperatures. At over 20 percent lighter than comparable AC motor pumps, it is a practical choice for technicians carrying equipment to rooftops and tight mechanical spaces.
The 93740 is built specifically for use with A2L refrigerant systems, incorporating a non-sparking switch and an isolation valve that allows oil changes without breaking vacuum in the system. A gas ballast valve helps keep oil cleaner during evacuation. An internal intake check valve prevents oil backup and maintains vacuum during a power failure. The pump includes a built-in vacuum gauge, an oil suck-back valve, and an elongated oil sight glass for easy monitoring of oil level and condition. A locking low-profile IEC connector with a 9 feet 10 inch power cord prevents accidental disconnection during operation.
Designed for use with A2L refrigerant systems and suitable as a general-purpose evacuation pump for residential and commercial HVAC and refrigeration service applications.
Installation and operation should be performed by licensed HVAC technicians following applicable safety codes and refrigerant handling regulations. Before connecting the pump to a system, confirm all system power is off and refrigerant has been properly recovered per EPA Section 608 requirements. Use the isolation valve to protect the pump during oil changes mid-job. The IEC power cord should be fully seated and locked before operating to prevent accidental disconnection.
