The YELLOW JACKET 18994 is a forged brass valve core remover designed for refrigerant system service. At 10 inches in overall length, it fits into compatible valve assemblies and directly unscrews the valve core or stem without sealing the line. This tool is rated to a maximum operating pressure of 800 psi and carries A2L compatibility, making it suitable for use with newer low-GWP refrigerants alongside legacy CFC, HCFC, HFC, and HFO refrigerant groups. It is intended for use by licensed HVAC and refrigeration technicians performing charging and core removal tasks on pressurized systems.
This valve core remover is suited for residential and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning service work. The 18994 features a 1/4 inch female SAE right-hand valve connection, a 5/16 inch female SAE right-hand line connection, and a 1/4 inch male SAE right-hand side port. The included side port allows technicians to maintain access during service operations. The tool is rated for operating temperatures between 32 degrees F and 120 degrees F, and a carrying case is included. Torque limits of 3 to 5 inch-pounds apply during core engagement.
Compatible with a wide range of refrigerant types including R-22, R-410A, R-32, R-1234YF, R-1234ZE, R-134A, R-404A, R-407C, R-507A, R-290, R-600A, and many additional CFC, HC, HCFC, HFC, and HFO blends as specified by the manufacturer. Valve connection is 1/4 inch female SAE; line connection is 5/16 inch female SAE.
This tool is intended for use by licensed HVAC and refrigeration technicians only. Because valve core removers do not seal the refrigerant line, they must never be used on a charged system without proper recovery equipment in place — rapid refrigerant release will occur if the core is removed from a pressurized, unrecovered line. Always recover system refrigerant per EPA Section 608 requirements before core removal. Observe the 3 to 5 inch-pound torque range specified for this tool to avoid damage to valve seats.
