The YELLOW JACKET 18992 is a brass valve core remover designed for removing and installing Schrader valve cores in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. At 10 inches in length, the tool provides extended reach for accessing service ports on condensing units, evaporator coils, and refrigerant lines. HVAC technicians use this tool during system service, evacuation, and refrigerant recovery procedures where valve cores must be removed to allow full-flow access through the service port.
The 18992 is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC service work. It is a standard hand tool for refrigerant system access, used during evacuation, charging, and core replacement procedures on systems using common Schrader-type service valves. The 10-inch length helps technicians reach service ports in confined equipment compartments without requiring full disassembly of surrounding components.
Designed for use with standard Schrader-type valve cores found on refrigerant service ports in residential and commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Installation and removal of valve cores should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician following applicable EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations. Recover or isolate refrigerant pressure before removing a valve core to prevent uncontrolled refrigerant release. Use the tool only on fully depressurized or core-depressor-equipped access fittings unless a valve core removal tool with a built-in shutoff is in use. Inspect the valve seat for damage before reinstalling a new core.
