The XTRWELD WTLAN15125-3DP is a 1.5% lanthanated tungsten electrode designed for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW). Sold in a 3-piece pack, this 1/8-inch diameter electrode features gold color-coding for quick identification. Lanthanated tungsten delivers reliable arc starting, low burnoff rate, and strong arc stability. It also provides reignition characteristics comparable to 2% thoriated electrodes, making it a practical alternative without requiring major changes to existing welding programs. Tungsten carries the welding current to the arc by combining exceptional hardness with a melting point of 3,410 degrees Celsius, the highest of any metal.
The WTLAN15125-3DP works on both AC and DC electrode negative (DCEN) applications. With a pointed tip, it is well suited for welding carbon steel and stainless steel using DC or AC square wave power sources. It can also be balled for use with AC sine wave machines. This electrode is appropriate for skilled welders and GTAW professionals in fabrication, structural, and precision welding environments where arc consistency and electrode longevity are priorities.
Designed for use in GTAW applications on carbon steel and stainless steel with DC electrode negative or AC square wave power sources, and suitable for AC sine wave machines when balled.
Installation and electrode preparation should be performed by a qualified welder or welding technician familiar with GTAW procedures. Power down and disconnect the welding machine before changing or grinding electrodes. When sharpening, grind longitudinally along the electrode axis to maintain arc consistency. Follow applicable AWS and shop safety guidelines for tungsten handling and disposal.
