The XTRWELD WCS4/0B-250 is a 4/0 AWG welding cable rated at 600 volts, supplied on a 250-foot reel. Manufactured in the USA, it uses a rope-lay, bunch-stranded copper conductor construction with a paper separator and a low-smoke halogen-free (LSHF) EPDM jacket that resists abrasion under heavy-duty service conditions. The cable carries an amperage rating of 550 amps at 50 feet, making it suited for high-current welding leads and ground connections. It is SAE J1127 compliant and RoHS compliant, covering a conductor range from 6 AWG through 250 MCM. Licensed electricians and welding professionals install this cable in industrial and fabrication environments.
This cable is designed for use in stingers and whips, welding leads, and ground clamp assemblies. It also serves battery applications including chargers and wire harnesses where a flexible, high-current conductor is required. The LSHF EPDM jacket performs well in environments where abrasion, oil, and heat are factors. Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or certified welding professional in accordance with applicable NEC and relevant AWS or SAE guidelines. Disconnect and de-energize all welding equipment and power sources before terminating or replacing cable. Inspect termination lugs and connectors for proper crimp or mechanical connection - a loose connection at 4/0 AWG can create significant resistance and heat. Do not exceed the published ampacity rating for the conductor length in use, as ampacity decreases with longer cable runs.
