The XTRWELD 7496 is a MIG welding contact tip manufactured to OEM quality standards in the Bernard traditional style. Contact tips are wear consumables that guide the welding wire through the torch and transfer welding current at the point of wire exit. This tip is sized at 0.040 inches, matching standard wire diameters used across a wide range of MIG welding applications. Each bag contains 10 tips, making it a practical stocking quantity for fabrication shops and field service welders. The part number and size are marked directly on the tip for fast identification in a multi-size consumable inventory.
These contact tips are intended for use with Bernard BTB, S-Gun, and W-Gun MIG torches. They are designed as full replacements for Bernard Centerfire, Quick Tip, AccuLock, and S series consumables where those series are used individually. Note that these separate series are not cross-mixable with one another, but this tip can serve as a complete drop-in replacement within a given series. Typical install environments include light industrial fabrication, maintenance and repair operations, and production welding where Bernard-style torches are the shop standard.
Designed for use with Bernard BTB, S-Gun, and W-Gun MIG torches. Interchangeable as a full replacement for Bernard Centerfire, Quick Tip, AccuLock, and S series traditional consumables. These series are not mixable with each other but this tip can replace any one series completely. Brand names referenced are trademarks of their respective owners; XTRWELD is not affiliated with those manufacturers.
Contact tip replacement is a routine consumable service performed by the welding operator or MIG torch technician. Always switch off the welder and allow the torch to cool before removing a worn tip, as the tip and nozzle retain heat after welding. Use the correct tip wrench or pliers to avoid cross-threading the tip into the torch diffuser. Inspect the gas diffuser and nozzle for spatter buildup when replacing the contact tip, as contaminated upstream components accelerate tip wear.
