The XTRWELD 45V24 is a standard medium gas lens designed for TIG welding applications using 17, 18, and 26 series torches. Gas lenses replace the standard collet body in a TIG torch and use a layered screen design to produce a laminar shielding gas flow around the tungsten electrode. This stabilized flow improves arc quality, reduces contamination, and allows the tungsten to be extended further from the cup for better access to tight joint configurations. At 0.62 inches in width and sized for a 0.04-inch electrode diameter, the 45V24 is a direct-fit consumable for the listed torch series. Electrode diameter is marked directly on the part for fast identification in the field.
This gas lens is suited for professional TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and other metals where shielding gas coverage is critical. Typical install scenarios include pipe welding, structural fabrication, and precision sheet metal work where arc stability and clean welds are required. The 45V24 is manufactured to OEM quality standards and is compatible with all major torch brands in the 17, 18, and 26 series configurations.
Compatible with 17, 18, and 26 series TIG torches from all major brands. Designed as a direct OEM-style replacement gas lens for standard medium torch configurations in those series.
Gas lens installation is performed by welding technicians as part of torch consumable maintenance. Disconnect the torch from the power source and purge shielding gas before disassembling the torch head. Remove the existing collet body and replace with the gas lens, ensuring the collet, back cap, and cup are properly seated before resuming operation. Follow the torch manufacturer's assembly sequence to avoid cross-threading or improper seating of consumables.
