The XTRWELD 1588 is a Bernard 1500 Series style contact tip designed for MIG welding wire at 0.030 inches in diameter. Contact tips are consumable components that guide the welding wire through the gun and conduct current to the wire at the point of transfer. This tip measures 0.309 inches in diameter and is manufactured to OEM-equivalent quality. Welding technicians and fabricators use this tip as a direct-style replacement in Bernard-compatible MIG gun setups. The part number is marked on the tip for fast identification during consumable changes on the shop floor or in the field.
This contact tip is intended for use with Bernard BTB, S-Gun, and W-Gun MIG welding torches using the 1500 Series traditional consumable platform. It is compatible with setups that currently use Bernard traditional-style consumables, and can serve as a full replacement for Centerfire, Quick Tip, AccuLock, and S Series consumables where the 1500 Series format applies. Note that these consumable series are not cross-mixable within a single gun setup, but the 1588 functions as a complete system replacement within its compatible platform.
Designed for use with Bernard BTB, S-Gun, and W-Gun MIG welding torches using the 1500 Series traditional consumable platform. Functions as a full replacement for Bernard Centerfire, Quick Tip, AccuLock, and S Series consumables where supported; these series are not mixable. Brand names referenced are trademarks of their respective owners and are used for fitment reference only.
Contact tip replacement is performed by welding technicians and fabricators as part of routine MIG gun maintenance. Always power down the welder and allow the gun to cool before removing or installing contact tips. Use the appropriate tip wrench or pliers rated for your gun to avoid thread damage. Do not overtighten; a snug, hand-firm fit is standard practice to allow for thermal expansion during welding.
