The XO APPLIANCE XOD1HP is a continuous feed garbage disposal designed for residential kitchen sink installations. Powered by a permanent magnet 1.0 horsepower motor running at 2500 RPMs, it grinds food waste on demand as scraps are fed into the drain. Operation is controlled by a standard wall switch, allowing waste to be added while the unit is running. The stainless steel turntable and cast impellers resist corrosion, breakage, and wear. Bio-guard anti-microbial protection is built in, and a sound insulation shield reduces operational noise. A 36-inch power cord is included for plug-in installation. This unit is suitable for homes with septic systems.
The XOD1HP is intended for residential kitchens where a continuous feed disposal is preferred over a batch feed model. It mounts under the sink using XO QuicKonnect twist-lock installation hardware, simplifying the swap-out process. A 3-bolt adapter, sold separately, allows reuse of existing installation hardware from a prior disposal unit. An optional remote air switch for push-button operation is also available separately. The unit handles common kitchen food waste including melon rinds, small bones, corn cobs, nut shells, fruit pits, tea leaves, fish bones, egg shells, grapefruit halves, and vegetable scraps. It is not designed for solid non-food items such as glass, rubber, cans, or shellfish shells like oyster or clam shells.
Designed as a plug-in corded continuous feed disposal for standard residential kitchen sink drain assemblies. A 3-bolt adapter (sold separately) is available for compatibility with prior installation hardware. This unit is not a direct-wire or hardwired model.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or experienced DIYer familiar with kitchen drain systems. Shut off power at the circuit breaker and confirm the outlet beneath the sink is accessible and properly rated before beginning work. Use the included QuicKonnect twist-lock hardware for mounting; do not force or overtighten the mounting assembly. Local plumbing codes (IPC) may govern disposal installation requirements, so verify compliance before connecting to the drain line.
