The WIREPATH WP-PC-CAT6-5FT-RED is a Category 6 Ethernet patch cable in a 5-foot length with a red jacket. Cat 6 patch cables provide the structured copper cabling backbone for network equipment connections, carrying data at up to 1 Gbps for standard Gigabit Ethernet and supporting 10 Gbps at shorter runs. This cable is sold as a single unit and is suitable for patching between network switches, patch panels, routers, and end devices. AV integrators, low-voltage technicians, and IT installers commonly use these cables in both residential and light commercial structured wiring installations.
The WP-PC-CAT6-5FT-RED fits typical horizontal and vertical patch bay applications in structured wiring enclosures, server racks, equipment rooms, and media closets. The red jacket aids with cable identification and color-coded management schemes in multi-cable environments. At 5 feet, the cable is suited for short equipment-to-equipment runs within racks or enclosures where excess cable slack is undesirable.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-use Cat 6 patch cable compatible with RJ-45 ports on switches, routers, patch panels, and network interface equipment meeting Cat 6 or Cat 5e standards.
Installation is performed by low-voltage technicians or AV integrators following TIA-568 structured cabling standards. Route cables away from high-voltage conductors and EMI sources to maintain signal integrity. Do not bend cables beyond the minimum bend radius or cinch cable ties so tightly that the cable jacket deforms. Verify that all connected ports and patch panel jacks are rated Cat 6 or higher to achieve full Cat 6 performance.
