The WIRE-COM 31141012 is an 18 AWG, 2-conductor unshielded multiconductor cable rated for plenum (CMP/FT6) installations. It uses stranded bare copper conductors for reliable conductivity and minimal voltage drop across long runs. The plenum-rated PVC jacket meets smoke and flame requirements for air-handling spaces, making this cable suitable for low-voltage control wiring in commercial and residential HVAC, building automation, and fire-alarm-adjacent signal circuits. The cable is rated for 300 volts and a temperature range of -20 degrees C to 75 degrees C. A durable rip cord is built in for clean, efficient jacket removal during termination.
This cable is designed for low-voltage control and communication wiring routed through plenum air-handling spaces, above suspended ceilings, and in HVAC duct environments where CMP-rated cable is required by code. Countdown length markings printed along the jacket allow installers to track usage and remaining footage without measuring. It is commonly pulled by HVAC technicians, low-voltage electricians, and building automation contractors on commercial and light-commercial projects. The 1000-foot spool size suits full-floor or multi-zone runs where continuous footage is needed.
Designed for low-voltage control, signal, and communication wiring applications requiring CMP plenum-rated 18 AWG 2-conductor unshielded cable in HVAC, building automation, and similar systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage electrician or qualified HVAC controls technician in accordance with NEC Article 800 and local building codes governing plenum-rated cable. De-energize all control circuits before splicing or terminating conductors. Use the integrated rip cord to strip the jacket cleanly and avoid nicking conductor insulation. Do not over-bend or kink the cable during pulls, and observe the minimum bend radius appropriate for the cable diameter.
