The WIRE 6strthhn is a THHN-rated, 6 AWG stranded copper building wire designed for use in conduit runs across residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical systems. The conductor is made from bare copper with a 19-strand configuration, covered by a PVC insulation layer and a nylon jacket rated for 600 volts. Current capacity is 55 amps at 60 degrees C, 65 amps at 75 degrees C, and 75 amps at 90 degrees C. The dry-rated temperature ceiling is 90 degrees C. Licensed electricians install this wire during rough-in and service work where a durable, code-compliant conductor is required in raceway systems.
This wire is suited for branch circuit wiring, feeder runs, and service entrance applications where THHN-rated conductors are specified. The black insulation color is standard for use as an ungrounded phase conductor in single-phase and three-phase systems. The 19-strand construction provides flexibility that simplifies pulling through conduit, especially in runs with multiple bends. It is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit projects in residential and commercial settings.
Designed as a standard THHN-rated 6 AWG stranded copper conductor for use in metallic and non-metallic conduit systems where NEC-compliant building wire is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and verify absence of voltage before working in any panel, junction box, or conduit system. Use appropriate conduit fill calculations per NEC Chapter 9 when pulling multiple conductors. Do not exceed the temperature and ampacity ratings for the intended installation environment.
