The WIRE 14strthhn is a 14 AWG stranded copper building wire rated for use in general electrical wiring applications. Manufactured by Southwire under the SIMpull line, this wire carries a dual THHN and THWN rating, making it suitable for both dry and wet locations. The conductor is stranded copper with 19 strands, giving it flexibility during pull-through installations. It is covered with PVC insulation and a nylon jacket, rated for 600 volts AC and 90 degrees C. The black jacket allows for standard phase identification. Each spool contains 500 feet of wire. Licensed electricians install this wire for branch circuit and feeder wiring in residential, commercial, and light industrial buildings.
This wire is used in conduit runs for branch circuits, panel feeders, and general-purpose wiring in residential and commercial construction. The THWN rating makes it appropriate for installations where moisture exposure is a concern, such as underground conduit or damp locations. The MTW and AWM ratings also allow use in machine tool wiring and appliance wiring applications where those classifications are required. The 19-strand configuration pulls through conduit more easily than solid wire, reducing installation time on longer runs.
Designed for use in conduit-based wiring systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial installations where THHN or THWN-rated conductors are specified per NEC requirements.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits at the panel before pulling or terminating wire. Use appropriate conduit fill calculations per NEC Chapter 9 to avoid overfilling raceway systems. Do not exceed the ampacity or voltage rating of this conductor in any application.
