The WIRE 14-2wgufcoils is a UF-B rated non-metallic underground feeder cable designed for direct burial applications without the need for conduit. Constructed with 14 AWG copper conductors and a ground wire, this cable is formatted as a 2-conductor-with-ground assembly. The solid thermoplastic jacket is formulated to resist moisture, fungus, and corrosion, making it suitable for wet and underground environments. Electricians and electrical contractors install this cable for branch circuit runs that transition from interior wiring to outdoor or underground service points. The 250-foot coil format reduces handling time on larger jobs.
This cable is used in residential and light commercial electrical installations where a direct burial-rated feeder is required. Typical applications include supplying power to outbuildings, detached garages, exterior lighting circuits, landscape lighting feeds, water feature pumps, and other outdoor loads that require a dedicated 15-amp branch circuit. The cable is suitable for use in wet locations, direct burial, and as an above-ground NM-style cable where local code permits.
Designed as a standard UF-B direct burial feeder cable for use on 15-amp, 120-volt residential and light commercial branch circuits in accordance with NEC Article 340 requirements.
Installation must comply with NEC Article 340 and all applicable local electrical codes. A licensed electrician should perform all wiring connections and confirm minimum burial depth requirements with the authority having jurisdiction, as NEC specifies different burial depths for UF cable depending on circuit voltage and protection method. Always de-energize and lock out the circuit at the panel before making any connections. Do not nick or abrade the jacket during installation, as damage to the outer thermoplastic sheath compromises the direct burial and moisture rating.
