The WIRE 10strthhn is a 10 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire supplied on a 500-foot spool with black PVC insulation and a nylon jacket. THHN is one of the most widely used wire types in commercial and residential electrical work, rated for 600 volts and 30 amps. The 19-strand construction provides flexibility during pull-through in conduit runs, reducing kinking compared to solid conductors. Rated to 90 degrees C in dry environments, this wire meets the temperature demands of standard branch circuit and feeder applications. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers.
This wire is suited for branch circuits, feeder runs, and general wiring in conduit in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. The black insulation color is standard for use as an ungrounded (hot) conductor in single-phase and three-phase systems. At 10 AWG, it is commonly pulled for 30-amp circuits serving dryers, HVAC equipment, water heaters, and similar loads. The 500-foot spool length reduces the need for mid-run splices on longer conduit runs.
Designed for use in conduit as an ungrounded conductor in standard THHN wiring applications across residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical systems where 10 AWG building wire is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any terminations. THHN wire must be installed in conduit and is not rated for direct burial or wet locations without an additional wet-rated jacket. Pull tension limits for the conductor should be observed during conduit installation to avoid insulation damage.
