The WILTON 42460 is a deep-reach C-clamp designed for applications where standard-throat clamps cannot reach. With a jaw opening range of 0 to 2-1/2 inches and a throat depth of 6-1/4 inches, this clamp gives tradespeople the clearance needed to secure workpieces far from the edge of a surface. It is built for use in fabrication, welding, plumbing, mechanical, and general trade work where extended reach is required. The 42460 is sold individually and is a straightforward, workhorse clamping tool suited for job site and shop use.
This deep-reach C-clamp is appropriate for residential and commercial trade applications where conventional C-clamps lack sufficient throat depth. Typical scenarios include clamping pipe fittings, securing flanges during welding, holding assemblies during mechanical repair, or any task requiring firm, stable clamping pressure well inboard of a workpiece edge. It is commonly used by plumbers, pipefitters, welders, HVAC fabricators, and general contractors.
Designed as an OEM-style deep-reach C-clamp for general trade and fabrication use where extended throat depth and up to 2-1/2 inches of jaw opening are required.
C-clamps are installed by hand using the threaded spindle and swivel pad — no power tools are required. Ensure the swivel pad is fully seated against the workpiece before applying clamping force to prevent slipping or surface damage. Do not exceed the rated jaw capacity, and never use a pipe or extension on the handle to increase torque. When used in welding applications, verify the clamp material is rated for the heat exposure involved.
