The WILLIAMS COMFORT PRODUCTS JHWTS38625 is a 5/8 inch SAE salvage socket designed to remove damaged, rounded, or corroded nuts and bolts without hammering. The socket measures 1.25 inches overall length and is built for use with a ratchet, breaker bar, T-handle, or air and electric impact wrench. Its internal grip geometry bites harder into the fastener as torque increases, making it effective where standard sockets slip. Trades working on HVAC equipment, plumbing connections, and marine or automotive fasteners will find it useful for recovery work on studs and pipe nipples as well as standard hex hardware.
This socket is suited for residential and light commercial service work where fasteners have been rounded, corroded, or otherwise compromised. It fits SAE fasteners at 5/8 inch and can also be applied to metric and fractional fasteners where close-fit engagement is acceptable. No special preparation of the fastener is required before installation. The socket seats over the fastener head and engages as the drive tool applies turning force.
Designed for use on standard SAE nuts and bolts at 5/8 inch, as well as studs, pipe nipples, and corroded automotive and marine fasteners. May also be used for best-fit engagement on metric and fractional fasteners.
Power down or de-energize any equipment before attempting fastener removal on electrical or HVAC assemblies. Shut off fluid supply lines before working on plumbing or pipe connections. Place the socket squarely over the fastener head and apply steady rotational force with the drive tool of choice. Avoid applying lateral force that could damage the socket or the surrounding component.
