The WILLIAMS COMFORT PRODUCTS JHWISFX418 is a Flextension — an integrated drive extension and socket unit designed for engine and heavy equipment manufacturing, assembly, and repair. The 3/8 inch drive, 9/16 inch, 6-point socket is permanently joined to the extension via a TIG-welded retention pin, eliminating the risk of the socket separating from the extension during continuous-use applications. The SUPERTORQUE lobular socket opening delivers greater turning power while reducing fastener deformation. The drive end includes a 7/32 inch cross-hole bevel for easier engagement, and the unit supports up to 30 degrees of angle offset. Maximum working torque is 160 ft-lbs (1,920 in-lbs / 217 Nm). Weight is 0.4 pounds.
This Flextension is intended for use with hand tools and power tools including impulse and direct-drive equipment. It is not rated for impact tool use. Typical applications include production assembly lines, engine teardown and rebuild operations, and heavy equipment maintenance where a conventional extension-and-socket combination risks dropping or disconnecting in confined or high-cycle environments. The black oxide finish provides corrosion resistance for shop and field use. Made in the U.S.A.
Designed for use with 3/8 inch drive hand tools and power tools (impulse or direct drive). Not compatible with impact tools. Other lengths and socket sizes are available by special order through Snap-on Industrial Brands representatives.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified mechanics or assembly technicians familiar with drive tool applications. Verify that the tool drive matches the 3/8 inch drive specification before use. Do not use this Flextension with impact wrenches or impact drivers — it is rated for hand and power tool use only. Confirm fastener size matches the 9/16 inch socket before applying torque to avoid fastener or tool damage.
