The WILLIAMS COMFORT PRODUCTS JHW7-1228 is a shallow impact socket designed for heavy-duty fastener removal and installation using pneumatic or electric impact wrenches. Built with a 1 inch drive and sized at 7/8 inch SAE, it features a 2.25 inch overall length suited for confined-space access. The lobular internal opening geometry — branded as SUPERTORQUE — transfers torque more evenly across fastener flats, reducing the risk of rounding. The socket is specially heat treated to withstand the cyclic shock loads generated by impact tools, extending service life in demanding shop and field conditions.
This socket is suited for industrial maintenance, heavy equipment service, fleet repair, and structural fastener work where SAE sizing is required. The shallow profile makes it practical in applications where a deep socket would bottom out or where working clearance is limited. It is sold as a single unit and is appropriate for use by millwrights, heavy equipment mechanics, and industrial maintenance technicians.
Designed as an OEM-style SAE impact socket for use with 1 inch drive pneumatic and electric impact wrenches in industrial and heavy-duty service applications.
Installation and removal of fasteners with this socket should be performed by qualified mechanics familiar with impact tooling. Ensure the impact wrench is depressurized or powered down before attaching or removing the socket. Do not use impact sockets with standard hand ratchets, as the differing metallurgy and tolerances are not compatible with hand-tool torque application. Inspect the socket for cracks or wear before each use.
