The WILKINS 2-850T is a 2-inch non-potable ball valve tapped for a test cock port, compatible with backflow prevention assemblies and shutoff applications in commercial and industrial plumbing systems. The test cock port is tapped and ready for a test cock fitting, which is sold separately and not included with the valve. Designed for use as a standalone shutoff or as a dedicated inlet or outlet valve in backflow preventer installations, the 2-850T is built for the demands of non-potable water service. Licensed plumbers and backflow prevention specialists are the primary installers of this valve.
The WILKINS 2-850T is used in non-potable water systems where a tapped test port is required for pressure differential testing during backflow preventer service and inspection. It serves as the number one ball valve or inlet ball valve on WILKINS 975XL, 950XL, and 950XLT backflow preventer assemblies. It also functions as both the inlet and outlet ball valve on the WILKINS 720A assembly. This makes it a direct-fit service replacement for technicians maintaining these specific assemblies in the field.
Compatible as the number one ball valve or inlet ball valve on WILKINS 975XL, 950XL, and 950XLT backflow preventer assemblies. Also compatible as both the inlet and outlet ball valve on the WILKINS 720A assembly.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or certified backflow prevention technician in accordance with local plumbing codes and the applicable assembly manufacturer instructions. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any valve. Ensure the test cock port is properly plugged or fitted with a test cock after installation to prevent leakage. This valve is for non-potable applications only and must not be installed in potable water supply lines.
