The WIHA 36606 is a Torx Plus L-handle hex key designed for driving IP6 Torx Plus fasteners in precision assembly and service applications. The long-arm configuration provides extended reach into recessed cavities and increased torque leverage over the short-arm end. At 2.6 inches overall length with a 2.5-inch working arm, this compact key is sized for tight-quarters work. The black handle finish provides visual contrast for quick identification in a tool pouch or kit. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and electronics service professionals regularly use Torx Plus keys for equipment panels and component fasteners that require a more precise fit than standard Torx drives.
This key is suited for residential and light commercial service environments where IP6 Torx Plus fasteners are encountered on equipment covers, control boards, motor housings, and similar assemblies. The L-handle form factor gives the technician two grip options: the short end for access and the long end for torque. It is sold individually and is appropriate as a standalone replacement or as an addition to an existing L-key set. Note that this tool is not tether-capable and is not rated for tethered drop-zone applications.
Designed as a standard L-handle key for IP6 Torx Plus fasteners found on HVAC equipment panels, electrical enclosures, motor assemblies, and similar trade hardware.
Insert the IP6 tip fully into the fastener recess before applying torque to avoid rounding the drive lobes. Use the long arm for initial breakaway and final seating; switch to the short arm for rapid spin-down in open clearance. This tool is not tether-capable and should not be used in elevated work environments where dropped-tool protocols require tethering. Service work on electrical enclosures should be performed with the circuit de-energized in accordance with applicable NFPA 70E lockout/tagout procedures.
