The WIEGMANN WAS100SS is a stainless steel hole seal designed to close unused knockouts and conduit openings in electrical enclosures. It covers 1-inch conduit openings and includes an oil-resistant gasket along with a quick wing nut for tool-free or minimal-tool installation. The stainless steel construction and NEMA 4X rating make it suitable for demanding environments where moisture, corrosion, or washdown exposure is a concern. Electricians and enclosure installers use this seal to maintain the environmental integrity of a panel or junction box when a conduit entry point is no longer in use or was never populated.
This hole seal is intended for use with general electrical enclosures in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. It is appropriate wherever a NEMA 4X-rated seal is required to block an open conduit knockout, preventing water ingress, dust intrusion, and contamination that could compromise equipment inside the enclosure. The 1-inch conduit size makes it a common fit for standard trade-size knockouts found across a wide range of enclosure types and panel installations.
Designed for use with general electrical enclosures requiring a 1-inch conduit hole seal with NEMA 4X environmental protection.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed electrician. Always de-energize the enclosure and follow NFPA 70 (NEC) lockout/tagout procedures before opening any panel or junction box. Insert the seal through the knockout opening, seat the oil-resistant gasket flush against the enclosure wall, and tighten the quick wing nut to secure the assembly. Do not overtighten to the point of deforming the gasket, as this can compromise the seal.
