The WIDIA 5576347 is a single-end corner chamfer end mill designed for precision edge preparation and chamfering on ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, it delivers heat resistance and wear life in demanding cutting environments. The 3/16 inch diameter tool features 4 variable-index flutes with a medium helix, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree chamfer angle. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and runs in a right-hand cutting, right-hand flute direction. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians working in job shops, aerospace, and general metalworking facilities are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its secondary workpiece material rating covers high-temperature alloys, making it applicable in aerospace and energy sector component machining. With a straight cylindrical shank at 3/16 inch diameter and a 2-1/4 inch overall length, it fits standard collet and end mill holders common to VMCs and manual milling machines. The variable flute type supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool, reducing tool changes in multi-step operations.
Rated for use on primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H). Secondary material rating covers high-temperature alloys. Part of the WIDIA 4V05 series, catalog number 4V0505000NT.
This tool is installed by machinists or CNC setup technicians in collet chucks or end mill holders sized for a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Verify runout at the holder before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Follow machine manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the workpiece material and depth of cut being applied.
