The WHITE-RODGERS 96-td165s is a liquid line filter drier designed for use in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Installed on the high-pressure liquid line between the condenser and the metering device, this filter drier removes moisture, acid, and particulate contamination from the refrigerant circuit. Keeping the refrigerant clean and dry protects the compressor, TXV, and other system components from premature wear and failure. The 5/8-inch ODF sweat connection fits standard copper liquid line tubing, and the unit measures 6.54 inches in length by 2.5 inches in diameter. HVAC and refrigeration technicians install this component during new system startup and when replacing a compressor or other system components.
The 96-td165s is suited for residential and light commercial refrigeration and air conditioning applications. It is installed in the liquid line to protect the refrigerant circuit from contamination introduced during service, compressor burnout cleanup, or initial system commissioning. The 5/8-inch ODF connection is compatible with standard copper tubing used in split-system and packaged air conditioning equipment. This drier is appropriate for use in systems where liquid line protection and moisture removal are required as part of routine service or system installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement liquid line filter drier for residential and light commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems requiring a 5/8-inch ODF liquid line connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC or refrigeration technician. Recover all refrigerant from the system before cutting into the liquid line, following EPA Section 608 requirements. Braze the drier into the liquid line using nitrogen purge to prevent oxidation scale inside the copper tubing. Always observe the directional flow arrow on the drier body and do not install in the reverse direction.
