The WHITE-RODGERS 81066 is a refrigeration ball valve designed for use in refrigerant line sets and HVAC-R systems. It features a 3/8-inch ODF (outside diameter flare) connection and includes an integrated access valve port and a brass locking seal cap. The ball valve construction allows for full-flow shutoff with a simple quarter-turn operation, making line isolation fast and reliable during service calls. The brass locking seal cap on the access port helps prevent refrigerant loss and keeps the service port secure between service intervals. This valve is installed by licensed HVAC-R technicians during system commissioning, component replacement, or refrigerant service work.
The 81066 is suited for residential and light commercial refrigeration and air conditioning applications where a reliable isolation valve with a built-in access port is required on the liquid or suction line. The 3/8-inch ODF connection size is commonly found on refrigerant lines in split-system air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration equipment. The access valve port allows for pressure testing, refrigerant charging, and system diagnostics without disturbing the main line connection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service valve for residential and light commercial HVAC-R systems using 3/8-inch ODF copper refrigerant line connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC-R technician in accordance with applicable local codes and EPA Section 608 regulations governing refrigerant handling. Recover all refrigerant from the system before cutting or unsoldering any refrigerant lines. Use standard ODF solder connection practices with appropriate flux and brazing alloy rated for refrigerant service. Verify the valve is in the closed position and the access port cap is secured after completing any service work.
