The WHITE-RODGERS 59699 is a liquid line filter drier designed for use in split-system and packaged air conditioning and heat pump refrigeration circuits. It removes moisture, acids, and particulates from the refrigerant stream before the refrigerant reaches the metering device, protecting system components from contamination damage. The drier features a 3/8-inch sweat connection and an 8 cubic inch capacity, sized for residential and light-commercial cooling systems ranging from 1.0 to 5.0 tons. Licensed HVAC technicians install this component during new system commissioning, system changeouts, or after a compressor burnout cleanup procedure.
This filter drier is suited for residential and light-commercial refrigeration circuits where liquid line drying and filtration are required. It is commonly installed in split-system air conditioners and heat pumps in the 1.0 to 5.0 ton range. The 3/8-inch sweat connection makes it compatible with standard copper liquid line tubing used in these system sizes. It is appropriate for use wherever contamination control or post-burnout cleanup is required in the liquid line circuit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement liquid line filter drier for residential and light-commercial split-system air conditioners and heat pumps in the 1.0 to 5.0 ton range with 3/8-inch sweat liquid line connections.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations. Recover all refrigerant from the system before cutting into the liquid line. Braze the drier into the liquid line with the flow arrow oriented in the direction of refrigerant flow toward the metering device, and allow all joints to cool completely before recharging the system. Replace the filter drier any time the system is opened to atmosphere or following a compressor burnout.
