The WHITE-RODGERS 24a34-001s1 is a single-switch electric heat sequencer designed to stage electric heating elements and fan circuits in residential and light-commercial electric forced-air systems. It provides a controlled on-delay of 1 to 20 seconds and an off-delay of 40 to 110 seconds on switch M1-M2, preventing simultaneous element energization that would otherwise spike current draw and trip breakers. The unit is UL component recognized and is rated for ambient operating temperatures from -50 to 165 degrees F, making it suitable for both standard and harsh-environment installations. Licensed HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this component.
The 24a34-001s1 is used in electric furnaces, electric air handlers, and heat-strip assemblies where sequenced staging of resistance heating elements is required. It is rated at 14.0 amps FLA and 72.0 amps LRA at 120 Vac, and 7.0 amps FLA and 42.0 amps LRA at 240 Vac, covering the voltage ranges most common in residential electric heat applications. The 480 Vac rating at 12.5 amps also supports light-commercial heat-strip configurations. It serves as a direct replacement for most fan and heat sequencing functions in systems requiring a single-switch sequencer.
Part of the 24A34 Series Electric Heat Sequencers product family. Designed as a direct OEM-style replacement for single-switch fan and heat sequencing applications in residential and light-commercial electric forced-air heating systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Always disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the air handler or electric furnace before removing or installing the sequencer. Verify that the replacement unit voltage and amperage ratings match the existing system requirements before wiring. Follow all applicable NEC guidelines for line-voltage component replacement in electric heating equipment.
