The WESTLAKE PIPE FITTINGS pvc-45l112 is a 45-degree elbow fitting designed for Schedule 40 PVC piping systems. It accepts 1-1/2 inch slip connections on both ends, allowing solvent-cement joints without threaded assembly. The fitting redirects flow at a 45-degree angle, which reduces turbulence compared to a sharp 90-degree turn. PVC construction resists corrosion and is well suited for water distribution, drain lines, and chemical transfer applications where metal fittings would degrade. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in both residential and light commercial systems.
This elbow is used in Schedule 40 PVC piping runs where a 45-degree directional change is required. Typical applications include domestic cold water supply, irrigation, pool and spa plumbing, and gravity or low-pressure drain lines. The slip socket ends accept standard 1-1/2 inch PVC pipe for a solvent-welded connection. It is appropriate for above-ground and below-grade installations where PVC is code-permitted.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 40 PVC piping systems using 1-1/2 inch slip connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before cutting into an existing system. Clean pipe ends and socket interiors, apply approved PVC primer, then solvent cement per the fitting and cement manufacturer instructions, and allow full cure time before restoring pressure. Follow applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines for allowable pipe materials, pressure ratings, and below-grade burial requirements.
