The WESTLAKE PIPE FITTINGS g5012 is a 12-inch SDR 35 PVC gasketed sewer 45-degree elbow, also referred to as a 1/8 bend. This fitting is designed to redirect sewer flow at a 45-degree angle within gravity-drain drainage systems. Manufactured from PVC and rated to SDR 35 standards, it delivers the wall thickness and pressure class required for underground sewer and drain installations. The gasketed connection eliminates the need for solvent cement at the joint, allowing for easier field assembly and thermal movement accommodation. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting in both new construction and replacement sewer-line work.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial sewer and drain applications where SDR 35 PVC pipe is specified. It is used in underground gravity-flow sanitary sewer systems, storm drain lines, and related low-pressure drainage infrastructure. The 45-degree bend angle is commonly used to make gradual directional changes in horizontal or sloped runs, reducing flow turbulence compared to sharper bends. At 12 inches nominal pipe size, this fitting serves main sewer runs and large-diameter collector lines rather than branch drain service.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction fitting for use with 12-inch SDR 35 PVC sewer pipe in gravity-flow sanitary and storm drain systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or applicable local plumbing codes. Ensure the trench bedding and backfill meet code requirements for SDR 35 PVC pipe to prevent pipe deflection and joint separation. Lubricate the gasket with an approved pipe lubricant before pushing the spigot into the bell to seat the joint properly. Do not use solvent cement on gasketed joints, and verify joint engagement depth before backfilling.
