The WESTLAKE PIPE FITTINGS dwv-d601-251 is a 45-degree DWV reducing wye fitting made from Schedule 40 PVC. It connects drain, waste, and vent lines at a 2 x 2 x 1-1/2 inch configuration, allowing a 1-1/2 inch branch line to tie into a 2 inch main run. All three ends are hub-style, accepting solvent-cemented spigot or plain-end pipe. Plumbers install this fitting in residential and light commercial drain systems where a smaller-diameter branch must merge into the main waste line. It is rated to 140 degrees F and meets NSF 14 certification requirements for plastic pipe and fittings used in drain applications.
This fitting is used in gravity-flow drain, waste, and vent systems installed behind walls, below slabs, or in crawl spaces. The 45-degree angle provides a sweeping entry that supports proper drainage flow and reduces the risk of blockage at the transition point. Its Schedule 40 wall thickness makes it suitable for standard residential and light commercial plumbing rough-in work. Licensed plumbers and experienced pipe fitters are the typical installers for this type of DWV assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 40 PVC DWV piping systems with a 2 x 2 x 1-1/2 inch hub configuration. Conforms to ASTM D 3311, ASTM 1866, and ASTM 1784 standards.
Installation must be performed in accordance with the International Plumbing Code and applicable local codes. Shut off the water supply and ensure the drain system is depressurized before cutting into existing lines. Clean and dry all mating surfaces, apply appropriate PVC primer and solvent cement per the manufacturer instructions, and allow full cure time before restoring flow. This fitting requires no special tools beyond standard pipe cutters and deburring equipment.
