The WESTINGHOUSE 669567R is a thermal expansion valve (TXV) rated for 3.5-ton systems using R-410A refrigerant. The TXV meters refrigerant flow into the evaporator coil, maintaining the correct superheat level for efficient heat exchange and compressor protection. This valve is a direct OEM-style replacement designed for use in multi-poise indoor air handler configurations. HVAC technicians install this component during refrigerant-side repairs, system commissioning, or when an existing TXV shows signs of hunting, restricted flow, or failure to maintain proper superheat.
This TXV is intended for use in residential split-system applications where a multi-poise indoor air handler serves as the indoor unit. The valve is specified for the B5BM-X42K-B and B5VM-X42K-B multi-poise indoor air handler models under the B5BM and B5VM model families. It is suited for installations where R-410A is the system refrigerant and the cooling capacity falls at 3.5 tons.
Specified for use on the B5BM-X42K-B and B5VM-X42K-B multi-poise indoor air handlers under the B5BM and B5VM model families.
TXV replacement must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified HVAC technician. Recover all system refrigerant before opening the refrigerant circuit. Proper TXV orientation and bulb placement are critical to correct superheat sensing — refer to the equipment manufacturer service literature for bulb mounting location and insulation requirements. Recharge the system to manufacturer specifications after installation and verify superheat and subcooling readings before returning the unit to service.
