The WESTINGHOUSE 632447R is a single-port furnace pressure switch rated at 0.85 inches water column (WC), configured as a single-pole single-throw (SPST) normally open (NO) device. It monitors negative pressure in the flue and combustion air circuit of a gas furnace. If the inducer fails to maintain the required draft, the switch stays open and prevents the ignition sequence from proceeding. This keeps combustion gases from entering the living space. Licensed HVAC technicians install and replace this switch as part of routine furnace diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
This pressure switch is designed for use on G6 and PG series gas furnaces. It is a direct-replacement component suited for residential forced-air heating systems where a single-port, normally open pressure switch is specified. Typical installation scenarios include replacing a failed or out-of-calibration switch during a no-heat service call, or as part of a planned maintenance overhaul on aging furnace equipment.
Specified for use on G6 and PG series gas furnaces per manufacturer data.
A licensed HVAC technician should perform pressure switch replacement. Always shut off power to the furnace at the disconnect or breaker and turn the gas supply valve to the off position before beginning work. Inspect the rubber sensing hose for cracks or blockages before connecting it to the new switch, as a degraded hose is a common cause of nuisance switch failures. Follow applicable local mechanical codes and the furnace manufacturer service documentation when completing the repair.
