The WEST PENN WIRE AQC1822GY0500 is an 18 AWG, 2-conductor access control cable designed for low-voltage security and access control wiring applications. Supplied in a 500-foot pull, this gray-jacketed cable is built for in-wall, conduit, and surface-mount runs common in commercial and light industrial security installations. The water-blocked construction resists moisture migration along the cable run, making it suitable for installations where moisture ingress is a concern. Licensed low-voltage technicians and security integrators are the primary installers of this cable.
This cable is used in access control systems, card reader wiring, electric lock power runs, and similar low-voltage security wiring scenarios. Its 500-foot reel length is sized for commercial floor or building installations where longer continuous runs are needed. The gray jacket blends with standard commercial ceilings and conduit finishes, minimizing visual impact in finished spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style low-voltage access control cable suitable for use with standard 2-conductor access control panel, card reader, and electric lock wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or alarm technician in accordance with applicable NEC Article 725 requirements for Class 2 and Class 3 remote-control and signaling circuits. De-energize all associated control panels and power supplies before terminating conductors. Avoid sharp bends that exceed the cable minimum bend radius, and do not run this cable bundled with line-voltage wiring without appropriate separation.
