The WEST PENN WIRE 60991BBL1000 is an unshielded solid-conductor fire alarm cable rated for use in life-safety signaling systems. This 16 AWG, 1-pair cable ships in a 1000-foot spool and is finished in blue jacket for easy circuit identification in the field. Solid conductors provide reliable continuity in low-current notification and initiating device circuits. Fire alarm installers and low-voltage technicians typically specify unshielded solid cable for conventional and addressable fire alarm panel wiring where shielding is not required by the panel manufacturer or the authority having jurisdiction.
This cable is suited for installation in commercial and residential fire alarm systems, including notification appliance circuits (NAC) and initiating device circuits (IDC). The 1000-foot spool length reduces splice points on larger jobs and supports efficient conduit pulls and open-plenum or in-wall routing depending on the listed application. The blue jacket aids in color-coded circuit management during rough-in and final inspection, particularly on multi-circuit panel installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fire alarm cable for unshielded solid-conductor applications in conventional and addressable fire alarm panel installations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed low-voltage or fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm panel and notify the monitoring center before pulling or terminating cable. Observe minimum bend radius requirements to avoid conductor damage during conduit pulls. Do not exceed the panel manufacturer's maximum loop resistance specifications for the circuit being wired.
