The WEST PENN WIRE 4346AFBK0500 is a shielded Category 6A (Cat6a) twisted-pair cable designed for high-performance structured wiring installations. Built with four pairs of 23 AWG conductors and a PVC jacket, this cable supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet and other bandwidth-intensive network applications. The shielded construction reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and crosstalk, making it well suited for environments where signal integrity is critical. It ships as a 500-foot spool, giving installers enough run length to complete most commercial or large residential data-cabling jobs without mid-run splices.
This cable is installed by licensed low-voltage technicians, electricians, and IT infrastructure contractors. Typical applications include horizontal runs from network switches or patch panels to wall outlets in commercial office buildouts, data centers, healthcare facilities, education campuses, and large residential structured-wiring systems. The 23 AWG conductor gauge meets TIA-568-C.2 Cat6a channel requirements for runs up to 328 feet (100 meters), and the full 500-foot spool allows room to work around conduit bends, trays, and other routing obstacles.
Designed as an OEM-style structured-wiring solution compatible with Cat6a-rated keystone jacks, patch panels, and RJ45 field-termination connectors that accept 23 AWG shielded cable.
Low-voltage technicians or licensed electricians should pull this cable in accordance with local codes and TIA-568 standards for Cat6a horizontal cabling. Do not exceed the manufacturer-specified minimum bend radius during pulls, and avoid running the cable parallel and in close proximity to high-voltage conductors without adequate separation or shielding. Terminate both ends with Cat6a-rated shielded connectors or keystone jacks to maintain the full shielded channel; an unshielded termination defeats the shield. De-energize any active patch panels or switch ports before terminating or re-routing live network drops.
