The WEST PENN WIRE 25244BWH1000 is an 18 AWG, 4-conductor stranded riser-rated cable supplied in a 1000-foot roll. Built for low-voltage signal and control wiring, it features a white outer jacket and an unshielded construction suitable for in-wall and plenum-adjacent riser runs. Stranded conductors provide flexibility during pull-through and termination work, making it a practical choice for HVAC control wiring, security systems, access control, and building automation applications. The riser rating meets vertical fire-propagation requirements for multi-story installations.
This cable is commonly used in commercial and residential buildings where low-voltage control circuits require a code-compliant riser pathway. Typical applications include thermostat wiring, zone control panels, card readers, intercom runs, and other 4-wire signal or control circuits routed vertically between floors. Low-voltage electricians and HVAC technicians are the primary installers. The 1000-foot continuous spool reduces the need for mid-run splices on long vertical or horizontal runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-supply cable for low-voltage riser wiring applications including HVAC controls, security, access control, and building automation systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage electrician or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with NEC Article 800 and applicable local codes for riser-rated cable. De-energize all control circuits before making terminations. Avoid sharp bends that exceed the cable minimum bend radius, and do not run low-voltage cable in the same conduit as line-voltage conductors unless the installation method is code-approved.
