The WEST PENN WIRE 25227BWH1000 is a 12 AWG, 2-conductor shielded plenum-rated cable supplied in a 1000-foot reel. Constructed for installation in air-handling spaces where building codes require plenum-rated materials, this cable meets the fire and smoke propagation requirements mandated by the National Electrical Code for plenum environments. The stranded copper conductors provide flexibility for routing through tight pathways, while the overall shield helps reduce electromagnetic interference. Electricians and low-voltage technicians install this cable in commercial HVAC control wiring, audio distribution, and security or data applications that run through ceiling plenums.
This cable is suited for commercial and light-industrial installations where plenum-rated wiring is required by code. Typical applications include HVAC control circuits, intercom wiring, background audio systems, and access control runs routed through air-return ceiling spaces. The white jacket finish is common in commercial construction and helps with circuit identification in above-ceiling pathways. The 1000-foot quantity makes it appropriate for large-project pulls or contractor stock.
Designed for use in plenum-rated commercial wiring applications including HVAC control circuits, access control, and low-voltage audio or communications systems where a shielded 12 AWG 2-conductor plenum cable is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 800 or the applicable low-voltage wiring articles for the intended application. De-energize all circuits before terminating conductors and verify plenum-rating requirements with the local authority having jurisdiction. Avoid sharp bends that exceed the cable minimum bend radius, and do not over-cinch cable ties, which can deform the jacket and affect shield integrity.
