West Penn Wire 25224BGY1000 18AWG 2C Plenum Audio Cable

Product Description

The WEST PENN WIRE 25224BGY1000 is an 18 AWG, 2-conductor stranded plenum-rated audio cable finished in gray. Designed for low-voltage signal distribution in commercial and residential audio systems, this cable carries analog audio signals between amplifiers, speakers, and distribution equipment. The plenum rating means the cable jacket meets the fire-resistance and low-smoke requirements mandated for installation in air-handling spaces and plenum ceilings. Licensed low-voltage technicians and commercial AV integrators are the primary installers. The stranded conductor construction adds flexibility during pull-through in tight conduit runs and finished wall cavities.

This cable is suited for permanent in-wall and in-ceiling audio distribution runs in commercial buildings, hospitality environments, schools, and multi-room residential systems. The gray jacket blends with common ceiling and conduit installations. The 1000-foot reel format is appropriate for large-scale system builds where bulk cable is pulled to multiple zones or speaker locations from a central head end.

Key Features

• Plenum-rated jacket meets fire-resistance and low-smoke requirements for air-handling spaces
• 18 AWG stranded conductors provide flexibility for long pulls and tight routing
• 2-conductor configuration suited for single-channel or mono speaker runs
• Gray jacket finish compatible with standard ceiling and conduit aesthetics
• 1000-foot bulk reel minimizes splices on large commercial or multi-room installs

Compatibility

Designed as a plenum-rated low-voltage audio cable for use in commercial and residential structured wiring systems requiring CMP-rated conductors in air-handling plenum spaces.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or communications technician in accordance with NEC Article 800 and local AHJ requirements. Confirm that the plenum rating is required by the installation environment before selecting this cable over a standard CL2 or CL3 alternative. De-energize all connected amplifiers and audio equipment before terminating conductors. Avoid sharp bend radii that exceed the cable minimum bend specification to prevent conductor damage during pull-through.
