The WELLER PTC7 is a chisel-style replacement soldering tip designed for use with Weller PT Series soldering stations. At 0.625 inches in working length, this compact tip delivers focused heat transfer to solder joints in tight spaces. Weighing just 0.03 pounds, it is a lightweight, single-use-per-station consumable that is swapped out during routine maintenance or when tip wear degrades joint quality. HVAC techs, electricians, and electronics repair professionals who work with PT Series stations will recognize this as a standard replacement tip for day-to-day soldering tasks.
The PTC7 chisel tip is suited for through-hole and general-purpose soldering work on circuit boards, wire terminations, and light-gauge electrical connections. The chisel profile provides a flat contact surface that transfers heat efficiently to pad-and-lead joints, making it a practical choice for tasks that require more contact area than a fine-point or conical tip would offer. It is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial service environments wherever a PT Series station is the primary soldering tool.
Designed as a replacement tip for use with Weller PT Series soldering stations.
Tip replacement on a soldering station should be performed with the iron powered off and fully cooled to prevent burns and to avoid damaging the heating element or tip seat. Allow the station to reach room temperature before removing the worn tip and seating the PTC7. Use the manufacturer-recommended tip removal tool or pliers with jaw protection if the tip is seized — do not force the tip with unprotected metal tools that could score the barrel. Once installed, tin the new tip immediately at operating temperature to protect the plating and extend service life.
