The WELDAS 55-6468 is a LAVAshield welding screen designed to create a safer and cleaner work environment in welding and fabrication areas. Constructed from specially formulated vinyl at 16 mil (0.4 mm) thick, this screen meets OSHA standards and CPAI-84 California Fire Marshal requirements. The low-transparency, safety orange panel measures 6 x 8 inches and is built to resist UV rays, flame, and abrasion. Kevlar-sewn edges add durability under repeated handling, and grommets placed at 12-inch intervals allow for quick and secure mounting to standard welding screen frames or support systems.
This screen is suited for use in industrial shops, manufacturing facilities, and job sites where welding operations require protection of nearby workers and equipment. The safety orange, low-transparency finish reduces weld flash visibility while clearly marking the protected zone. Welding screens of this type are commonly installed in metal fabrication shops, automotive repair bays, shipyards, and general maintenance facilities where arc welding or cutting operations are ongoing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation welding screen for standard welding screen frame systems used in industrial and fabrication environments.
Welding screens are typically hung by welders or safety personnel using the built-in grommets and compatible hooks, chains, or frame hardware. Ensure the screen is suspended taut and covers the full intended exposure area before beginning any arc welding or cutting work. Follow applicable OSHA 29 CFR 1910.252 guidelines for welding area partitioning and worker protection. Inspect grommets and seams periodically for wear and replace the screen if any tears or burn-through are present.
