The WELDAS 55-5466 Alliance LAVAshield welding screen is a high-visibility, high-transparency barrier designed for use in welding and fabrication environments. Constructed from specially formulated vinyl at 16 mil (0.4 mm) thickness, it meets OSHA standards and CPAI-84 California Fire Marshal flame-resistance requirements. Measuring 6 feet by 6 feet and finished in yellow, this screen is suitable for shop floors, manufacturing facilities, and job sites where arc flash containment and visual separation of work zones are required. Licensed welders, fabricators, and facility safety personnel are the primary installers.
The 55-5466 is suited for industrial and commercial welding environments that require compliant flash barriers and defined work zones. Its high-transparency yellow vinyl allows visibility through the screen, supporting workflow coordination across adjacent work areas without removing the screen. Grommets spaced at 12-inch intervals along the perimeter allow the screen to hang from standard welding screen frames or overhead support systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or supplemental panel for standard welding screen frame systems that accept 6-foot by 6-foot curtain panels with grommet-top mounting.
Welding screens are typically installed by welders, safety coordinators, or maintenance personnel using standard hooks or cables threaded through the perimeter grommets. Ensure the support structure is rated for the weight of the panel and that all adjacent combustible materials are cleared before beginning welding operations. Follow OSHA 29 CFR 1910.252 guidelines for welding area setup and screen placement. Do not modify the screen material by cutting or trimming, as this may compromise the flame-resistance properties along the edge.
