The WELDAS 44-2136 is a full-length leather welding bib apron designed to protect the torso and legs of welders and fabricators during arc welding, cutting, and grinding operations. Constructed from golden-colored full-grain leather, the apron measures 36 inches in length and features adjustable self-balancing straps with a quick-release mechanism for fast donning and doffing. All leather seams are double-locked stitched using high-strength 5-ply Tex 90 DuPont Kevlar thread, delivering a seam that resists heat, abrasion, and mechanical stress over extended service life.
This apron is suited for professional welders, pipefitters, boilermakers, and fabricators working in shop or field environments where spatter, slag, and radiant heat exposure are routine. The 36-inch bib length provides coverage appropriate for standing work at a welding table or positioner. It is also a practical choice for torch cutting and plasma cutting stations where leather protection is preferred over FR fabric alternatives.
Designed as a general-purpose leather welding bib apron suitable for use across MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy-fuel welding and cutting applications where leather PPE is specified.
Fitted by a welder or PPE coordinator prior to beginning hot work. Adjust the self-balancing straps to achieve a snug, centered fit before entering the work area. Inspect all stitching and strap hardware before each use and remove the apron from service if seams are frayed or hardware is damaged. Follow your site PPE policy and applicable ANSI Z49.1 welding safety guidelines when selecting and wearing protective clothing.
