The WELDAS 33-6228M is a medium-size welding spatter guard apron constructed from FR-7A flame retardant cotton sateen. The open back design promotes airflow and reduces heat buildup during extended welding sessions. FR-7A fabric meets Federal Test Method 191.5903 and retains its flame retardancy through up to 50 standard home washings or 25 commercial laundry cycles. This apron is intended for use by welders and fabricators who need front-of-body spatter and spark protection without the heat retention of a closed-back garment. Bibs are sold separately.
The 33-6228M is suited for MIG, TIG, and stick welding applications in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial environments. The flame retardant cotton sateen construction provides a balance of heat resistance and day-long wearability. It is appropriate for use in situations where spatter exposure is moderate and front coverage is the primary protection requirement. The open back format makes it a practical choice for stationary or semi-stationary welding positions.
Designed as a front-body spatter guard for general welding and metal fabrication applications. Bibs are sold as separate accessories and are not included with this item.
Welding protective clothing should be inspected before each use for burns, tears, or areas of compromised fabric. Follow the garment care label for washing instructions to preserve flame retardancy ratings. Do not use fabric softeners or bleach, as these can degrade FR treatment effectiveness. Replacement should occur when the fabric shows physical damage or has exceeded the rated wash cycles.
