The WELDAS 33-6220 is a flame retardant cape bib designed for welding and hot-work applications where upper-body spark and spatter protection is required. Constructed from 9 oz green FR cotton sateen, the cape bib meets ASTM D6413-13b vertical flame resistance requirements, covering after flame, after glow, and self-extinguishing performance. The 20-inch length provides coverage across the chest, shoulders, and upper back. Welders, fabricators, and industrial maintenance technicians use this type of garment as a supplemental protective layer worn over or in place of a standard welding jacket in moderate-heat environments.
The 33-6220 is suited for MIG, TIG, and light stick welding tasks in fabrication shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance environments. The cape bib format allows arm mobility while protecting the torso and upper body from weld spatter, slag, and radiant heat. The FR cotton sateen construction retains its flame retardancy for up to 50 normal home launderings and up to 25 commercial washings, making it a practical and durable option for daily shop use.
Designed as an OEM-style protective garment for use in welding and general hot-work environments requiring ASTM D6413-compliant FR upper-body protection.
Cape bibs are fitted and removed without tools. Ensure all fasteners are fully secured before beginning any welding or hot-work operation. Inspect the garment before each use for burns, tears, or contamination that may compromise protection. Launder according to manufacturer guidelines to preserve FR performance ratings.
