The WEISS INSTRUMENTS asy-14s is a 90-degree angle pigtail siphon fitting designed to protect pressure gauges from direct contact with high-temperature steam and condensate. Constructed from iron, this pigtail-style siphon connects between the process line and the gauge using 1/4-inch NPTM connections on both ends. It is rated for service up to 300 psi and 300 degrees F, making it suitable for steam, hot water, and similar pressure measurement applications. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and mechanical contractors install this type of siphon wherever gauge protection from thermal shock and pulsation is required.
This fitting is commonly used in residential and commercial mechanical systems where pressure gauges are installed on steam boilers, hot water heating systems, or other pressurized piping. The 90-degree angle configuration allows for compact installation where space is limited and where a pigtail loop is needed to trap condensate ahead of the gauge. Both ports are 1/4-inch NPTM, making it compatible with standard gauge inlet connections found throughout the trade.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement pigtail siphon fitting for standard 1/4-inch NPT pressure gauge installations in steam and hot water piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or mechanical contractors following applicable IPC and IFGC guidelines. Depressurize and isolate the system fully before removing or installing any gauge or siphon fitting. Apply appropriate thread sealant rated for the service temperature and pressure to all NPT connections. Avoid over-tightening iron fittings, which can cause cracking at the threads.
