The WEILER 98542 is a crimped carbon steel wheel brush designed for deburring, surface preparation, cleaning, and light material removal on metal and other hard surfaces. Measuring 3 inches in outside diameter with a 1/2-inch face width, this brush mounts via a 1/4-inch shank that is included with the unit. The crimped wire configuration allows the filaments to flex under load, making it well suited for contoured and irregular surfaces. Rated to 20,000 RPM, it is compatible with standard die grinders and rotary tools commonly used in fabrication, maintenance, and field service work. Wire diameter runs up to 0.0099 inches, providing a balance of aggressiveness and surface finish control.
This wheel brush is used in metal fabrication shops, HVAC sheet metal work, plumbing rough-in, and general maintenance applications where weld spatter removal, rust cleaning, paint stripping, or surface conditioning is required. The 1/4-inch shank mount fits the collets of most pneumatic and electric die grinders available in trade and industrial settings. Its compact 3-inch diameter allows access to tight spaces and confined workpieces where larger abrasive tools cannot reach.
Designed for use with pneumatic and electric die grinders and rotary tools equipped with a 1/4-inch collet. Suitable for metal deburring, rust removal, and surface conditioning across general trade and fabrication applications.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified trades personnel familiar with rotary abrasive tool safety. Before mounting, confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 20,000 RPM rating of this brush. Secure the 1/4-inch shank firmly in the collet and inspect the wire fill for damage before each use. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA rotary tool safety guidelines when operating wire brushes at speed.
